Oyster Beds in Le Canon, France

Oyster Beds in Le Canon, France
30" x 40" oil on stretched canvas

Sitting on the veranda facing this beautiful vista and its changing sunrises and sunsets is what we do when we visit Le Canon at the Gilchrist home of Patrick and Florence, parents of our close friends Seamus and Mia.

This is a painting of oyster beds in the Bassein de Archechon in the northwestern shore of France near Cap Ferret, an hour north of Bordeaux. It is also where Monet and other impressionists painted because of its beauty.

The house looks out at this vast water basin full of oyster beds. The raw oysters in all the areas of these waters are so fresh and delicious. We eat them at the little restaurant houses owned by the French oyster fishermen and enjoy the beautiful waterfront view and the changing sunsets.

This painting is sold, but an 8" x 10" print is available for $75 plus s/h.

By the Creek
24" x 18" oil on stretched canvas

My husband and I love to take walks in our neighborhood. This is a scene of a brook that we often pass by on our walks.
I especially like to see the changing foliage during the fall and the greening of the trees in the spring. This is my attempt to capture the colors of this changing landscape.

It can also be purchased framed in a gold wood frame for $600 plus s/h. If you would like to see it framed, I can email you a picture of it.

Mirror Lake II, Yosemite

Mirror Lake II, Yosemite
36" x 24' oil on stretched canvas
This is the second larger painting of Mirror Lake that I actually began before the smaller one. The reflection in this version is darker than the first one. As I said before, doing a mirror reflection and having it look like it is in the lake was a challenge for me. I have other scenes of Yosemite that I plan to paint in the future.
If you would like to purchase this oil painting, please email me. This 36" x 24" oil painting is priced at $600 plus s/h, ready for framing.
A print of this scene is available for $75 plus s/h.

Mirror Lake, Yosemite

Mirror Lake, Yosemite I
24" x 18" oil on stretched canvas
This is a smaller one of two paintings I did of Mirror Lake when I visited Yosemite with my husband and friends. I was enthralled by the mirror reflection which appears much darker than the origjnal mountain. I struggled with the reflection and making it appear like it was really in the water. I hope to revisit Yosemite because of its beautiful vistas and scenic trails.
If you would like to purchase this painting, ready for framing, please email me.
This 24" x 18" oil painting is priced at $500 plus s/h.
An 8" x 10" print is available for $75 plus s/h.

Boats of Collioure, France, rance

Boats of Collioure, France
18" by 22" acrylic framed painting
In one of my travels last year, we visited a little French fishing village where Matisse and other painters went to paint called Collioure. It is the most beautiful, quaint place on the southeast coast, just before you enter Spain. Everywhere you walk along the waterfront is so picturesque that you want to put up your easel and paint it.
This is a close-up acrylic painting of some very colorful fishing boats sitting at rest.
If you would like to purchase this painting, please email me. It is framed in a gold wooden frame and is priced at $500 plus s/h.
An 8" x 10" print is available for $75 plus s/h.

Grace Bay Beach

Grace Bay Beach
8" x 10" oil on stretched canvas

Blue-green water, beautiful sandy beaches, sunny days and colorful sunsets....

What a wonderful island to visit this year in February with my husband, Don, son, Mike, daughter-in-law, Julie, and two grandsons, Jacob and Max. IGrace Bay Beach is in Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

This vacation was a special birthday treat, and I have decided to paint a series of Caribbean scenes from this vacation. The clouds over the ocean were magnificent and we relaxed watching them change as we sat at the pool. There were also very dramatic sunsets, especially when people on horses walked against these sunsets on the beach.
Eating at beachside restaurants and walking back to our hotel on the moonlit beaches added to the beaufy of this vacation. Since Turks and Caicos is only a three hour flight from Philadelphia, it was a very relaxing, laid back trip.
